Well, here I am....starting off on another adventure in my life! Not that I haven't had my share of adventures in my 55 years on this planet. I have so many memories dancing around in my head, I feel like a computer hard drive....but one that might need reformatting sometime soon!! Hopefully, as I post here, and take on the wonderful daily challenge of blogging, I will be able to write so that you will be able to understand, relate, sometimes commiserate and maybe, just maybe, I will inspire you too!! At least inspire you to leave a comment and let me know how I am doing!! We artist types definitely need feedback!! So, to briefly explain what I am attempting to do with this blog, I will start with one of my favorite quotes...don't know who wrote it, but it definitely sums up what I think about life..."Life is Simple....it just isn't easy!" Profound, huh?! Just think about it for a minute...truly, our lives are cluttered and busy and we never have enough time...but is it our life that is that way, or is it that we have made choices that make it more complicated than it needs to be. I believe that life has some very simple rules...love one another...be the best you can be....whatever you choose to do, do it with no compromise...and be honest. Simple, yes? But definitely not easy!! So, as I start this blog, I am writing it for many reasons...I am an artist, who has just recently been able to pursue my painting as a full-time career. YEAH!! I have raised four kids, helped a bit in raising three stepkids, hopefully been a positive influence in my grandkids lives, and am a full time mom/grandma to my one darling grandson, Colter, who we've had since he was almost 3 and he is now 15. So basically, I have been a mom for 35 years and counting! So, many times people ask me questions like, "why do you paint that?' or "Have you always been able to draw like that?" or "Gee...I didn't see that till you pointed it out to me." And many other comments that have a direct relationship to how I view the world differently because I am an artist. I decided that there are truly things that I might see differently, and yet being a woman, a mother, grandmother, and wife, there are many things that are exactly the same as any other woman. But that maybe my perception, or my "filters" so to speak, are a little different because I view things "Through Artists Eyes." Hence, the blog....a platform to show verbally and visually how life is from an artist's point of view! So, here's a toast to the first post....hey, that was poetic, wasn't it? See, I'm just starting, folks.....
